Electronic Cigarettes and Their History

Electronic cigarettes are also called personal vaporizer or e cigarettes. They function on the principle that a liquid is turned into a misty aerosol and this stimulates the act of smoking of tobacco.  Environmental pollution is a major concern and it is one of the emerging issues in society today. Herbert A Gilbert thus had an idea about reducing environmental pollution caused by cigarettes. He thus used water and nicotine solution and burnt it to produce steam. The steam is contained in the device and does not escape to the environment. Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist and other people also developed on this idea and came up with the present day electronic cigarettes. 

These cigarettes were first introduced in China as smoking aids and a replacement to the other cigarettes. There are various differences between the electronic cigarettes and the conventional cigarettes and these make it unique. These differences are the reasons why they have become so popular and they include; the electronic cigarettes do not pollute the environment. This is because they do not contain nicotine and if so, in very small amount and when it is burnt, it does not produce smoke, tar, ash and carbon monoxide gas that pollute the environment. This thus reduces the risk of polluting the environment as a result of burning tobacco and producing smoke to the environment.

They are also friendly to the health of the smoker and those within his environment. They do not pose any environment hazard in any way as the other form of cigarette does. This is because the cigarettes do not contain tar and nicotine that can cause lung cancer, bronchitis and other respiratory diseases. Unlike the conventional tobacco that stains teeth of the smokers and their fingers, in addition to bad breath, the electronic cigarettes have no effect like that. They are thus user friendly. They are available in different flavors, this implies that so many people can easily get what they want since tastes and preferences differ from individuals. With e-cigarette, each and every individual has the opportunity to choose a wide variety of cigarettes that can meet his or her taste and preference.

One can also change the type of cigarette to smoke since they contain no or different quantities of nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive substance in tobacco and their absence reduces chances of addiction and the effects one gets after smoking the cigarettes. They are also fairly priced and this accounts for their increased demand amongst the smokers.

They can also be used in places where the conventional cigarettes cannot be used. The conventional cigarettes cannot be used in places like petrol stations and public areas because they can cause fire or harm the health of other individuals because of the smoke and odor they produce. The electronic cigarettes are thus much safe to use and dispose as opposed to the conventional one which a part from being unfriendly to the environment also causes problems to the consumer such as lung cancer and other related diseases.
