Austin is one of the fastest growing towns in the United States and the capital city of Texas State.  Austin has an array of legal jobs. Austin Legal Jobs include lawyers, judges and parole officers.

Lawyers are a part of the Austin legal Jobs. These are people who are trained to protect their clients’ interests in accordance to the law. There is a variety of lawyers in Austin which include but are not limited to divorce lawyers who as their name suggests deal in divorce, annulment, child custody etcetera, domestic relations attorneys who deal with domestic issues during a divorce such as separation of debts and assets and pension plans, bankruptcy lawyers who help their clients file for bankruptcy and help them to get the best possible deal out of the situation for example keep their cars or homes even personal belongings and assets from being reposed, family lawyers who deal with family issues such as child violation rights, adoption etcetera and criminal lawyers who defend alleged criminals with what they have been charged with in court. To become a lawyer in Austin you have to do an undergraduate degree, then complete Law Schools Admissions Test (LSAT), apply to law school, apply to the state bar of Texas and then take a multistate professional responsibility exam which is a requirement in the state of Texas. Austin requires one to also have a background investigation and lastly apply for a Texas State Law License.  Annual average salary $ 61,000.

Judges are an integral part of the Austin legal jobs. They are required by law to pass judgment on cases based on the evidence provided and also to pass sentences on people who have been found guilty. They take to heart the saying, “Justice is blind” which applies that they should not take sides on decision of cases. In the State of Texas which Austin is its capital there are different qualification standards based on the court you would like to serve. For example to serve in an appeal court you need to have been a licensed law practitioner for 10 years and be over 35 yeas old. You also need to be a citizen of both Texas and the United States. To be a district judge you need to have practiced law in Texas for four years and be one of the residents of the judicial district  which they serve for two year and be a citizen of Texas. Annual salary $125,000.

Probation officers or parole officers supervise offenders who have been released from jail or sentenced to community service. They present reports on offenders and meet the offenders to make sure that the requirements set for their probation are being adhered to. Those who work with juveniles assist with their rehabilitation. To qualify one needs to have done a four year degree preferably in sociology, psychology or behavioral studies. Due to the high concentration of Spanish speakers in Texas being conversant in it is an added advantage. Annual average $48,000.
